The new government in Moldova led by Maia Sandu, which unites pro-Russian and pro-EU elements, plans to rebalance the finances and economy of one of the poorest countries in Europe with the help of Western loans.
Since it took office in Mid-June, the new cabinet has conducted active diplomacy with Western partners and with international financial institutions to try to solve key problems inherited from the last government led by the Democratic Party under Pavel Filip.
This found itself in a growing financial predicament.
