Federica Mogherini’s press office has announced that the EU foreign policy chief will host a new high-level dialogue meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo President Hashim Thaci on November 8.
On my way to Brussels for yet another difficult meeting with counterpart from Serbia, but a necessary one to achieve the final, comprehensive legally binding deal between #Kosovo and Serbia. Only this will open EU perspective for our countries and ensure UN membership for Kosovo.

“The two leaders are expected to confirm their readiness to intensify work to reach a legally binding agreement on comprehensive normalisation, which is crucial for their respective European path,” Wednesday’s press release said.
Two presidents will meet for the first time after Vucic unexpectedly cancelled a meeting with his Kosovo counterpart due in September in Brussels, after holding a bilateral meeting with Mogherini.
Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008. Serbia has vowed never to recognise it. However, both countries are under pressure to solve the decade-long dispute, if they are to assure themselves a future as part of the EU.
