Only six months after its biggest triumph - winning the most seats in the Kosovo Assembly in June’s general elections, although not enough to form a government - Vetevendosje is now facing its biggest challenge in its 12-year history.
The general council of Vetevendosje announced on Sunday that it has decided that elections for a new party leader will take place in early 2018, when current leader Visar Ymeri ends his three-year term.
Despite the fact that members of the general council said that the meeting was heldin a democratic spirit, Ymeri and the party’s former organisational secretary, Dardan Molliqaj, did not show up.
