After singing “O sole mio” and the popular Serbian song “Miljacka”, Dacic ventured into songs in Turkish language. Reportedly, the performance left President Vucic roaring with laughter.
The Serbian Foreign Minister has performed on many occasions, both formal and informal, sometimes wowing his guests, but also drawing criticism for his perceived lack of seriousness.
“Whenever he has a chance Dacic grabs it and embarasses the nation,” one unimpressed person commented on Twitter.
Others compared him to a jester and commented on feelings of “embarassment” at watching the country’s Foreign Minister sing.
Dacic also sang at the presidential inauguration of Vucic in June, and earlier, at the Balkan summit in Paris in 2016, fulfilling Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama’s birthday wish.
As Prime Minister, in 2013, Dacic grabbed a microphone to entertain movie stars Pierce Brosnan and Olga Kurylenko when they were in Belgrade filming a movie.
